Terms & conditions

The rules of taking part.

Written to be read, by students and parents.

1. About the competition

SEBC is a free, fully online environmental business competition for students aged 9–18 in Singapore. There is a single round. SEBC is an independent youth initiative. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government agency.

2. Who can enter

Individuals and teams of up to 5 students may enter. Each student needs their own parent or guardian’s consent before the entry can be submitted. There is a single category and mixed-age teams are welcome.

3. Entries

  • An entry has a pitch video (max 3 minutes, unlisted YouTube or Google Drive link) or an essay of up to 1,000 words, a Green Business Canvas, and 1–5 pieces of proof of action with no faces.
  • Entries must be the team’s own work. Teachers and parents may advise but not write the entry.
  • Entries lock automatically at the closing time. We can’t accept late entries.

4. Judging

Entries are scored out of 100 by the judging panel: the points for each of five areas are published on the Judging page and may be updated by the organisers before judging begins. Judges’ decisions are final.

5. Recognition

The top 3 teams win prizes, and three special awards (Ingenuity, Impact and Action) each go to one team. Every participant receives a digital certificate, top-scoring teams receive Winner or Finalist badges, and every team receives written feedback. Prize details are published on the Prizes page. Winning entries are shown publicly, on the SEBC website and on SEBC’s official social media, only where every member’s parent agreed to the optional public-display consent.

6. Safety and conduct

Tests must be safe, lawful and respectful of others’ property. Never test something that could put anyone at risk. We may disqualify entries that include faces, personal data, or inappropriate content.

7. Ownership

The team keeps ownership of its idea. By entering, the team lets SEBC use the entry to run the competition and, where consent was given, to feature it publicly.

8. Changes

Dates and rules may be updated. We will post changes on the Key dates page and email teams affected.
